   About the
founder

For Asher, cancer biology has been a fascination since middle school, when a YouTube video spiraled into reading Molecular Biology of the Cell for fun. Asher Shin now conducts research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Yale, where his work on cancer disparities and AI-driven data extraction from pathology reports has been published in JAMA Network Open and presented at national oncology symposiums.

He is currently writing a book for elementary and middle school students that explains how exercise and nutrition connect to cancer prevention, and is launching an online lecture series bringing MSKCC and Yale researchers to high school audiences.


Off the research track, Asher is a competitive golfer and a three-year junior champion at Alpine Country Club with multiple tournament wins. He's also a dedicated runner training for the 2026 Millbrook Marathon with a long-term goal of qualifying for the NYC Marathon at 18.
